Hi, last August we adopted a Brittany mix to join our pack. Reese came from a meth house and had significant health issues, but she’s recovered and is gradually becoming a real sweetheart. One problem we need to solve, though, is aggression with strangers. She’s small but fiercely territorial and can be pretty terrifying. We’re workin with an excellent trainer but we have a long way to go with some other issues first (like separating from the other two dogs). I’m not looking for a quick fix but interested in any thoughts on this. Thanks! (And thanks, Sue, for putting this together!)

I feel like the best thing would be to find someone that doesn't mind spending 30min to an hour at your house on a semi regular basis. They could just come over hang out with you and generally ignore the dog. It would probably be pretty tough the first few visits. It just seems to me like treating it like exposure therapy for phobias would be a good first step.
